The cliff accepts the wave
It does not fight the wave,
But it does not crumble
It does not get angry at the wave
Its the nature of the wave to lash out
The wave is inevitable
Cannot be wished away
After the wave recedes
The cliff knows that the wave
Will be back

Its not perturbed
It knows it has the strength

We start at one corner
Seeking the goal
The way out
We make some false starts
But thats a must
No perfect way to traverse the maze
Each one chooses a different way
Even though the destination
Seems to be the goal
Each time we make it
Through a maze
We will be invited to start again
No need to rush
Through the maze of life
Better to go slow
Meditate a while
One good move
Better than a few wrong ones
Once weve been through
A maze or two
Well see the pattern
Discover the groove
Well see the value
Of reflection and a slower pace
Well realize that theres no hurry
To get to the end
Well focus on the process
Of getting there
Accumulate wisdom
On the way
The maze of life
Passes through desserts dry
Mountains high
Rivers that rush
And forests, lush
The secret is not to give up
When the going gets tough
Not to fear challenges and hard times
They are the most valuable times
The maze of life
Full of twists and turns
The one who designed it
Knew the secret!

Children of half-light
We sometimes know what’s
Wrong and right
But when it comes to action
We falter and fall
We know kindness and honesty
Is where it’s at
But sometimes we let in
Anger and lie despite that
We know we’re all one
Black, brown and white
But we seem to forget that
At the crucial time
We know man and woman
Are equal in the sight of God
But we don’t know how that
Translates into every day life
We know tact and wisdom
Are what we need
But where do we find
These commodities?
We know the value of friendship
And comradery
But don’t take the time
To cultivate it
We know wealth and power
Are illusions
But that Mercedes looks
So good, nevertheless!
We know what we have
We can’t take with us
But we accumulate
This earthly dust
We know salvation
Lies in virtues and love
But acquiring them
Can be a steep climb
Children of half-light
We struggle and learn
There is no fast way
To gain wisdom they say
Patience and compassion
For ourselves
Will ease our pain
And show us the way

The ego dissipates
Even if it is momentarily
I, me and mine
Melt away
Calm replaces anxiety
The way appears more clear
And as my hand made
Statue of myself
My design
Breaks down
It is built anew
A better design
Replaces mine
I recognize my place
In the universe
Infinitesimally small
Yet, I can be guided
By the hand of the Divine
I have the map
The way is shown
The journey is long
And starts anew
Each morn
The ego dissipates
Melts down
Doors open
And I begin to walk

Cautiously optimistic
Sunny with a chance of showers
Is the weather forecast
Enjoy the sun
But bring an umbrella along
Run but pace yourself
Rest is also needed
Or your will be overwhelmed
Smile but dont be over confident
You never know
Whats around the bend
Set goals, but know your limits
If pushed too hard
You are setting yourself
For a fall
The middle path is the best
And most important
Plan ahead
Watch out for the pothole
You drove over last time
Reflect before you decide
The stakes are high
Your friends will stand by you
In times of need
Nurture your friendships
They are life savers indeed!

Dance if you’ve torn the bandage off
Dance in the middle of fighting
Dance when you’re perfectly free!*
Dance, dance your sorrow away
Dance and forget regret and loss
Dance a dance of thankfulness
Because your suffering is a guide

Dance and feel the weight lift off

Music lifts us up
Music feeds our soul
Music the antidote
Dance in celebration
Dance in preparation
Dance at the beginning
Dance at the end
Change is a constant in life
Dance at each stage of life

Round and round, on and on
Dance to commune with the angels above
Dance and listen to their song
Angels will sing the purest melody
Angels will be your guide
