Thankful

img_4219

Today, I’m thankful for feeling well

Being able to laugh again

Today, I’m thankful that my creativity is back

And I want to write again

Today, I’m thankful to have energy

To do what is needed

Today, I’m thankful to walk in the sun

Having left the shadows behind

Today, I’m thankful to feel calm again

To face the things that come my way

Today, I’m thankful to have my optimism back

Along with my sunny disposition

Today, I’m thankful to feel well again

Once more, I’ve conquered darkness

Spirit

A smile is a smile
No matter our race or class or nationality
Tears are tears
No matter where we are from

Laughter is exhilarating
No matter who is laughing
Heartache is painful
No matter the colour our skin

Hope gives us wings
No matter where we were born

Despair makes our days
Cloudy and dark
No matter how rich or poor we are

Kindness and a loving heart
Don’t depend on what we look like

Patience and humility
Don’t have an outward cause

Our essence
Our qualities
How we make others feel
And how we feel
Don’t depend on external forms
They emanate from and are felt
By the spirit inside all of us

You and I

IMG_1652

I’m a roaring waterfall
You are a serene lake
I’m fire and fury
You are cool stream flowing
I talk before I think
You think so long, before you talk
That I become impatient
I am the talkative one
You are the best listener
I’m spontaneous
You like routine

You’re a night owl
And I’m an early bird
You’re super organized
I try my best
You make me laugh
I love laughter
You’re the reason I came out
Of my shell
You are tactful
I speak my mind
You are diplomatic
I am not!
You are the rock
And I lay against you
You are sunshine
And I bathe in you

My laughter

image

My laughter
Like an explosion of sound
Like thunder over the ocean
Like a waterfall in a lush jungle
Like a cacophony of birds singing
Like blinding lightening
Like a drum roll
Like church bells pealing
Like flashes of light

My laughter
Like hands clapping in joy
Like an orchestra playing
Like the sun shining
Like the wind blowing
Like a volcanic eruption
Like a river rushing by
Like a spring bubbling
Like a rainbow in the sky

Laugh out loud

Laugh out loud my friend
Laugh out loud
I know there are times when we cry
When we’re sad
When the world weighs heavy on us
But when you can
Please laugh out loud

Let your laughter ring
Through the room
Let it bring joy to everyone

The days of women being
Demure is done
Laugh out loud my friend
Laugh out loud

Tears are special
When they fall
They was the sadness
From our hearts

But when life affords you
The opportunity to laugh
Laugh out loud my friend
Laugh out loud

You need to be heard
You need to shine
You need to celebrate life
No more silent or quiet laughter
Laugh out loud my friend
Laugh out loud

Sometimes heads turn
When we laugh out loud
We take people by surprise
Women’s laughter is noticed
More than men’s
Because we’ve been quiet for too long

I read somewhere
Laughter is spiritual relaxation
I read it’s the best medicine
I know it invigorates you
I know that fatigue leaves

And if you can make
Other people laugh out loud
May you be blessed for all time!

Have I grown up?

IMG_7096

Have I grown up?
It depends…

When I joke and giggle with my kids
Talk about absurd things and
Sing songs badly
I feel just like a kid!

When I laugh at silly jokes
And tears start rolling down my cheeks
When I play Sherades or other games
I feel just like a kid

When I cry because of a harsh remark
Can’t find words to respond
Feel insecure as can be
I feel just like a kid

When I learn something new
Discover a poet I like to read
And time passes without me noticing
I feel just like a kid!

Of course I have the responsibilities
of a grown-up
Working, taking care of bills
Watching over my children
And these kinds of things

Of course, I’ve learned a thing or two
Experienced hardship
And can talk about my life lessons
So, I’m not a kid

But bing an adult would be so boring
If from time to time I could not be like a kid!

My favorite town…

My favorite town would be a multicultural town
People of all colours and backgrounds getting along

My favorite town would be a creative town
Where artists gather
Art is appreciated
And it’s part of life

My favorite town would be sunny and warm
Warm but not hot
Lots of blue sky!

My favorite town would be a friendly town
Where people encourage each other all the time

My favorite town would be a beautiful town
Beauty of nature and man-made beauty existing side by side

My favorite town would be a colourful town
Alive with different shades and hues
Full of fun!

My favorite town would be a happy town
Laughter would be heard here and there
Giggles would fill the air

Montreal, where I live
Has many of the things that I want
Add lots of sun and warmer winters to what it has
And I’d be living in my favorite town!
