The colour of sincerity

What is the colour of sincerity?
It’s no colour at all
It’s transparent
Because this is no barrier between the sincere
person and others, none!

To be sincere is to be one’s authentic self
Nothing to hide
Perfections and imperfections clear for all to see

Because after all aren’t we all the sum
of our perfections and imperfections?
We all struggle to live our best lives
Love our fellow man
And contribute to the world

And if my sincerity inspired you dear friend,
I am humbled and thankful!

I know not!

It’s time to rehash the last three months
When darkness fell upon my heart
When laughter did’t come easily anymore
When sorrow reigned and hope was gone

I see the light at the end of the tunnel now
My world is beginning to become colourful again
Shades of gray are replaced by yellow, red and green
Brightness is back, dreariness is gone!

And what was the purpose of this pain?
Why this suffering again and again?
The answers may elude me now
Perhaps I’ll know the reason why
Further down the road of life
The road where surprises hide
And answers are hard to come by

I felt like I was walking in a swamp
Every movement seemed so hard
Sometimes I wonder how I persisted
How I managed to smile from time to time

Writing, my joy in life left my side
Reading, my inspiration
Seemed laborious and hard
Joy left
Mental alertness left
I was surrounded by fog

I was not efficient
Not quick on my feet
I didn’t have any bright ideas worth sharing
But what choice did I have but to go on?
What Choice did I have…. none!

My friends were by my side
They’d throw me a line from time to time
Trying to keep me afloat a bit longer
As I struggled in the currents of life

It’s almost over
I’m almost there
And I’m thankful as can be
It’s a rebirth, another one
What is the wisdom?
I know not… I know not!

My favorite town…

My favorite town would be a multicultural town
People of all colours and backgrounds getting along

My favorite town would be a creative town
Where artists gather
Art is appreciated
And it’s part of life

My favorite town would be sunny and warm
Warm but not hot
Lots of blue sky!

My favorite town would be a friendly town
Where people encourage each other all the time

My favorite town would be a beautiful town
Beauty of nature and man-made beauty existing side by side

My favorite town would be a colourful town
Alive with different shades and hues
Full of fun!

My favorite town would be a happy town
Laughter would be heard here and there
Giggles would fill the air

Montreal, where I live
Has many of the things that I want
Add lots of sun and warmer winters to what it has
And I’d be living in my favorite town!

The many colours of courage!

Courage comes in so many shapes and forms
For some, it’s in chasing a storm
For some, it’s in fighting a worthy fight
For some, it’s in singing their song

Courage comes in many colours too
Black for daring
Brown for persevering
And gold for feeling worthy!

Courage!
Be fearless I was told!
And yet I thought
I had some courage before
But as we grow
Our courage also needs to grow

Courage to be who we are meant to be
Courage to share our gifts
Courage to remove the mask of pretense
Courage to remove the veil of fear

Courage to see the signs
Courage to listen to our guides

Courage to live our dreams
Courage is what I need!
